Assistant Corrosion Project Manager
About the role
The Assistant Corrosion Project Manager plays a crucial role in the assessment and management of corrosion mechanisms and materials science in various industries such as oil and gas, chemicals, mining, food and beverage, and industrial markets.
Responsibilities
- Cook up and execute projects under the supervision of a Project Manager
- Coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project’s lifecycle
- Compile field data and write reports and technical memorandums
- Perform assessments on pipelines and concrete structures in the water, wastewater, and transportation industries
- Enter confined spaces, work near traffic, and work in wastewater structures
- Frequently travel nationally for field work
- Receive classroom and hands-on training to safely perform fieldwork
- Coordinate workload through project execution and complete deliverables on budget and schedule
- Work with the Project Manager, Accounting, Operational, and Business leadership for periodic project reviews
- Conduct analyses to develop chemical or process-related design options or recommendations and assist in the preparation of project deliverables
- Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables
- Work independently on small projects or assist more-senior engineers/professionals on larger projects
- Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 5 years related experience
- Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license)
- MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be plus)
Qualifications
- Experience in project execution within the Oil and Gas, Chemicals, Mining, Food and Beverage and/or Industrial Markets
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Chemical / Process design software (examples include Aspen Suite, EnviroSim BioWin, Hatch GPS-X, or OLI Systems)
