Assistant Corrosion Project Manager
About the role
The Assistant Corrosion Project Manager will coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project’s life cycle, responsible for many aspects of a small project or a single aspect of a larger project. They will conduct analyses to develop chemical or process related design options or recommendations and assist in the preparation of project deliverables. They will perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Prepare for field work and compile field data
- Write reports and technical memorandums
- Perform assessments on pipelines and concrete structures
- Enter confined spaces, work near traffic, and work in wastewater structures
- Frequently travel nationally for field work
- Receive classroom and hands-on training for fieldwork safety
- Coordinate workload through project execution and complete deliverables on budget and schedule
- Work with the Project Manager, Accounting, Operational and Business leadership for periodic project reviews
- Conduct analyses to develop chemical or process related design options or recommendations and assist in the preparation of project deliverables
- Work independently on small projects or assist more-senior engineers / professionals on larger projects
- Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
- A solid understanding of corrosion mechanisms and materials science
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 5 years related experience
- Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered
Qualifications
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in project execution within the Oil and Gas, Chemicals, Mining, Food and Beverage and/or Industrial Markets, Computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Chemical / Process design software (examples include Aspen Suite, EnviroSim BioWin, Hatch GPS-X, or OLI Systems)
- Required Qualifications: MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be plus)
