Assistant Corrosion Project Manager
About the role
The Assistant Corrosion Project Manager will coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project’s life cycle, responsible for many aspects of a small project or a single aspect of a larger project. They will conduct analyses to develop chemical or process related design options or recommendations and assist in the preparation of project deliverables. This role requires frequent travel and involves both office and fieldwork.
Responsibilities
- Cook up for work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project’s life cycle (from development and initiation to close-out), under supervision of a Project Manager
- Responsible for many aspects of a small project or a single aspect of a larger project
- Coordinate workload through project execution and complete deliverables on budget and schedule
- Work with the Project Manager, Accounting, Operational and Business leadership for periodic project reviews
- Conduct analyses to develop chemical or process related design options or recommendations and assist in the preparation of project deliverables (examples include engineering drawing packages, cost estimates, and project specifications)
- Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
- Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables
- Work independently on small projects or assist more-senior engineers / professionals on larger projects
- Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
- A solid understanding of corrosion mechanisms and materials science
- Experience in project execution within the Oil and Gas, Chemicals, Mining, Food and Beverage and/or Industrial Markets
- MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be plus)
- Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 5 years related experience
- Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered
SkillsPreferred Qualifications
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Chemical / Process design software (examples include Aspen Suite, EnviroSim BioWin, Hatch GPS-X, or OLI Systems)
