Schedule
Full Time, School Year (10 months). Monday – Friday, 7.5 hours per day, 7:00 am – 3:00 pm (includes a ½‑hour unpaid lunch).
Pay
Minimum $18.25 per hour.
Minimum Qualifications
- Successful completion of a recognized certificate program in Food Service Administration focusing on Food Production (not Management), with supporting certificate or diploma.
- Or one (1) year paid full‑time (or part‑time equivalent) experience in large‑scale food preparation for a cafeteria, restaurant, hotel, or institution (excluding short‑order or fast‑food).
Additional Qualifications
- Ability to supervise staff.
- Knowledge of nutrition principles and balanced diet.
- Basic computer skills for management duties.
- Ability and desire to work in a fast‑paced production and serving environment.
- Previous catering experience.
- Ability to promote a positive work environment.
- Sanitation Certified – Serve Safe.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Function as a manager in the absence of the manager.
- Assist in preparation and service of foods for the school food service program.
- Support routine management functions: menu forecasting, production planning and scheduling, inventory management, stock and delivery management, cash and meal accountability, and other duties assigned by the Cook Manager.
- Participate in maintaining acceptable health, safety, and sanitary practices as required by regulatory agencies.
- Care for and safely operate equipment assigned to the school food service program.
- Follow oral and written instructions.
- Assist the manager with catering activities scheduled before, during, and after regular hours, including evenings and non‑school days.
- Participate in management activities and meetings.
- Receive and make change and operate point‑of‑sale terminal.
- Maintain physical condition commensurate with the lifting demands of the position.
- Maintain daily attendance.
