Assistant Controller (Remote, US)

Responsibilities

• Own technical accounting research and memo drafting on complex topics
• Lead end-to-end global audit management and serve as the auditor liaison
• Design and implement the internal controls framework, driving SOX readiness
• Oversee the quality and compliance of month-end close, identify gaps
• Manage multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation, and transfer pricing compliance
• Map data flows into NetSuite and collaborate to automate the close
• Build and automate reconciliation frameworks for GAAP and management figures
• Deploy AI tools to reduce manual work across the accounting functions
• Oversee accounting, AP, AR, and cash operations teams

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with a director-level readiness
• Active CPA designation
• Experience in a public company with a focus on mature finance functions
• Pristine track record as the primary liaison during audits
• Proven hands-on experience with complex technical accounting memo drafting
• Experience in SOX and internal controls design
• Demonstrated ownership of systems and automation processes
• AI fluency with an automation-first mindset
• SQL knowledge or willingness to learn for data issue investigation
• Experience with NetSuite is a strong plus
• Background in travel, fintech, or marketplace industries is a plus
• Experience with pre-IPO or IPO readiness is advantageous
