Assistant Controller (On-site)

About the role

Seatrax is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our finance team at our Northwest Houston facility. This position plays a key role in supporting the Controller and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Controller with the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Maintain compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
• Assist with internal and external audits and serve as a liaison with auditors as needed.
• Perform account reconciliations and review financial records for accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain organized and accurate accounting documentation and records.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Prepare and submit required business reporting, including Census, ISN, and other regulatory or customer reporting requirements.
• Assist with process improvements and other special projects within the accounting and finance department.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of corporate accounting experience, preferably within a small- to mid-sized organization.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems; Sage Intacct experience is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.

Schedule

• Full-time, on-site position
• Monday through Friday
• 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
