Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities across North America.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and management reporting packages.
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals.
- Manage general ledger accounting activities and ensure compliance with accounting policies.
- Oversee fixed assets, intercompany transactions, inventory accounting, payroll accounting, and revenue recognition processes, as applicable.
- Ensure proper accounting treatment of complex or non-routine transactions.
- Review required financial reporting for the business.
- Understand and comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements as defined in the risk control matrix.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, strategies, guidelines, and authority levels.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, statutory, and tax reporting requirements across North America.
- Provide accounting guidance to business leaders.
- Assist with financial system implementations and transformation projects.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for use at all levels of the organization.
- Comply with all Company & Regulatory HS&E & Quality and IT standards and policies; wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and maintain HS&E & SQ certifications.
- Conduct business with professionalism and in line with WIS Core Values.
- Work in accordance with WIS and client HSE policies, and maintain legal compliance.
- Lead and support continuous improvement projects.
- Work with Manager to prepare for future career opportunities.
- Handle special projects as assigned.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Requirements
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- 8 years’ accounting experience required.
- Advanced understanding of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, or similar).
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Experience with consolidation, reporting, and compliance systems.
- Familiarity with SOX, audit processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience managing accounting activities across multiple North American jurisdictions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
