Assistant Controller

About the role

Under general guidance and direction of the Controller, serves as a strategic partner to the Controller in managing the County’s accounting operations, leading complex financial reporting, and driving continuous process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Manage the County’s accounting operations
• Lead complex financial reporting
• Drive continuous process improvement

Requirements

• Two (2) years of work experience in financial management
• And one of the following:
  • Master’s degree in Accounting
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Certified Public Financial Officer (CPFO)

Preferred Qualifications

• Supervisory experience
• Governmental work experience
• One of the following certifications:
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM)
  • Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
  • Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO)
  • Other related certification

Additional Eligibility

• Valid driver’s license and obtain a valid State of Utah driver’s license within sixty (60) days of employment
• Submit to a pre-employment drug screen and background check

Pay

$86,153.60 - $99,070.40 Annually

Schedule

8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday
