About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Controller to oversee our daily corporate accounting operations, manage the month-end close process, and ensure strict compliance with SEC reporting regulations and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls. In this role, you will report directly to the Corporate Controller and lead a team of accounting professionals to deliver accurate, timely financial data that supports our executive decision-making and investor relations. The ideal candidate pairs deep technical US GAAP knowledge with public company experience to maintain the integrity of our financial infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Operational Accounting & Month-End Close Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close and financial statement consolidation processes.Review complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and project accrualsSupervise core accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and General Ledger activities.Maintain and enforce the company’s internal control environment in compliance with SOX 404 requirements.Optimize financial systems and ERP infrastructure to automate workflows and accelerate the close cycle. Audit Coordination & Financial Analysis Serve as the primary liaison to external and internal auditors to manage quarterly reviews and the annual financial audit.Provide comprehensive variance analyses (actuals vs. budget/forecast) for senior leadership.Research and document technical accounting positions on complex transactions, such as stock-based compensation, leases, and acquisitions.Collaborate with FP&A and Investor Relations to prepare financial data packages for Board of Directors meetings. Process Improvements, Systems Administration Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, and systemsProvide system administration for SAP, Concur and PCard program.Ensure accounting policies and procedures are kept current Leadership and Collaboration Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team; set clear expectations, review work and build a culture of ownership, accuracy and continuous improvementFoster strong collaboration with internal and cross-functional teams Other Other projects and assignments as requested Qualifications And Skills Education Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred. Experience Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including a mix of public accounting and industry; experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or complex R&D environments is highly desirableAt least 3 years of experience in a publicly traded company or a Big 4 public accounting firm.Proven track record managing SEC financial reporting workflows.Direct leadership experience managing and developing an accounting team.Comfortable working in a fast-changing environment with evolving processes, and able to design pragmatic, scalable solutionsPrior Experience with SAP/Concur and owning system administration functions Interpersonal Skills Strong customer service focus.Adaptability in a high growth environmentAbility to work well both individually and with teamsHighly developed organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to consistently meet deadlinesClear and concise communication skillsAbility to challenge the status quo and strive for improvements Where You’ll Be Otto Aerospace is currently a remote workplace.
