Responsibilities
- Own the technical accounting function, ensuring all practices comply with GAAP and established accounting principles.
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls that protect company assets, ensure regulatory compliance, and mitigate fraud risk and accounting errors.
- Prepare and maintain a rolling 13-week cash flow forecast, supporting leadership in making confident financial decisions.
- Partner with external auditors to support the audit function, including preparation of schedules and resolution of audit findings.
- Support the Controller in producing accurate, timely financial statements.
- Aid in customer billing processes, identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records, and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team as it grows, creating an environment where people are challenged, supported, and set up to do their best work.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Active CPA license preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including roles with director-level responsibility; 10 years preferred.
- Inventory accounting experience required, with a background in a product- or goods-based business; large company environment preferred.
- Amazon seller or marketplace experience highly preferred.
- Public accounting experience with a regional, national, or global audit firm preferred.
- Advanced knowledge and hands-on application of GAAP, with a proven ability to build and scale accounting processes in a high-growth environment.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and Google Workspace (particularly Sheets); experience with additional accounting systems a plus.
- Motivated to create, improve, and own processes in a dynamic environment — you don't wait for someone to hand you a playbook.
