Job Description The Assistant Controller supports the corporate and operational accounting functions of Kokosing, a diversified construction and infrastructure services organization. This role partners closely with the Controller and finance leadership to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, strong internal controls, and efficient close processes. The Assistant Controller plays a key role in executing accounting operations, supporting consolidation and reporting activities, and driving consistency across business units. Key Responsibilities Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring accuracy and timelinessReview journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements for completeness and accuracyAssist in preparation of consolidated financial statements and internal management reportingEnsure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policiesMaintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting, including SOX-related controls where applicablePartner with business unit finance teams to ensure consistent accounting practices across the organizationAssist with external and internal audit processes, including preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor requestsSupport budgeting and forecasting processes through collaboration with FP&A and operational teamsDrive process improvements in accounting operations, systems, and reporting workflowsParticipate in finance transformation initiatives, including system implementations and standardization efforts Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field requiredCPA required or actively pursuing certification5–8 years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting experience preferredExperience in construction, infrastructure, or multi-entity environments preferredStrong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirementsExperience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and advanced Excel skills required Core Competencies Strong technical accounting knowledge and analytical skillsHigh attention to detail and commitment to accuracyAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and collaboration skillsProcess improvement mindset with focus on scalability and efficiency Kokosing is an equal employment opportunity/affirmative action federal and state contractor.
