Assistant Contract Manager
About the role
The Assistant Contract Manager supports the Program Manager in managing, administering, and executing warehouse and logistics operations. The position involves assisting with inventory management, receiving, storage, order fulfillment, transportation coordination, quality assurance, customer service, compliance, staffing, and operational reporting.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the day-to-day management of warehouse operations.
- Support the execution of Performance Work Statement (PWS), Statement of Work (SOW), and contractual requirements.
- Oversee receiving, storage, inventory control, picking, packing, shipping, and distribution activities.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation processes.
- Assist in recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, and training warehouse employees.
- Provide direction, coaching, and performance feedback to supervisors and staff.
- Promote a strong safety culture throughout the warehouse.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company safety requirements.
- Conduct safety inspections and accident investigations.
- Maintain contract performance metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Maintain warehouse layout, space utilization, and material flow efficiency.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, required.
- Associate degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years of warehouse, logistics, supply chain, or contract operations experience is required.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and logistics processes.
- Understanding of contract administration and performance management.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Microsoft Excel, and reporting tools.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to analyze operational data and develop corrective actions.
- Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours to support peak National Guard training cycles and weekend drill surges.

- Work in a warehouse environment, including dry storage rooms, refrigerated coolers (+32°F to +45°F), and a bulk freezer environment maintaining a -10°F temperature threshold.
- Work during regular weekdays and scheduled training weekends.
