About the role

This position provides critical support to construction operations by managing project documentation, coordinating multi-trade activities, and assisting with construction project controls. The role begins with a strong focus on project documentation, calculations, and data entry, and will expand in scope as the individual demonstrates capability and initiative. It is ideal for someone passionate about construction management, eager to learn, and interested in long-term growth on a complex, technology-driven construction site.

There are three openings: one position is located in Malta on a project site, and two positions are located in Albany. The work takes place on-site at the project facilities, supporting ongoing construction and upgrades in a high-tech manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support construction managers by receiving, logging, tracking, expediting, and distributing shop drawings, RFIs, and other construction project controls documentation.
  • Manage project documentation, perform calculations, and complete accurate data entry to support project controls and reporting.
  • Collect data, assemble, and distribute various weekly reports, leveraging the Building Information Modeling (BIM) process.
  • Assist in multi-trade coordination across structural, mechanical, electrical, and process disciplines using 3D modeling software such as Autodesk Navisworks Manage.
  • Coordinate with design professionals to clarify design intent, resolve issues, and support effective communication between design and construction teams.
  • Prepare building sequence 3D models that are coordinated with the project schedule to support planning and execution.
  • Develop presentation-quality 3D models for progress reporting and stakeholder updates.
  • Support the review and tabulation of project data, drawings, and related documentation.
  • Manage the tracking, reproduction, and distribution of all drawings, specifications, sketches, and revisions to ensure current information is available to the field.
  • Attend and actively participate in construction and other project meetings as required.
  • Take clear, accurate meeting minutes and issue them promptly to relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist the field team in verifying component deliveries, work in place, and other site activities to support quality and progress tracking.
  • Direct contractors and subcontractors in the use and implementation of project management systems and file management processes.
  • Support project managers and superintendents in file management and software capabilities, helping teams use tools effectively.
  • Collaborate closely with the design and build team to identify and eliminate construction errors caused by design flaws.
  • Contribute to reducing time and costs related to potential errors through effective clash detection and coordination.
  • Assist project managers with scheduling, submittals, RFIs, and change order processes as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience or strong interest in construction management, with a focus on project engineering and field support.
  • Ability to manage and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other construction project controls documentation.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and general office software.
  • Capability to perform accurate data entry, documentation management, and basic calculations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for logging, tracking, and distributing drawings and specifications.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with construction managers, design professionals, contractors, and field teams.
  • Ability to attend meetings, take clear notes, and prepare concise meeting minutes.
  • Demonstrated positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn and take on increasing responsibility.
  • Clear career interest in construction management rather than design-focused roles.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management is highly preferred.
  • Any experience in semiconductor or pharmaceutical construction environments is a strong plus but not required.
  • Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes.
  • Experience with Revit MEP or Fabrication CADmep is a plus.
  • Experience using Autodesk Navisworks Manage for 3D coordination and clash detection is a plus.
  • Experience in construction management, mechanical engineering, or related engineering disciplines.
  • Exposure to scheduling, submittals, RFIs, and change order workflows.
  • Interest in long-term career growth within construction project engineering and management.
  • Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams in complex, high-tech construction environments.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Albany, NY. The role is fully onsite and offers reliable, long-term work with a steady location and established leadership. Holiday and vacation benefits are available while on contract.
