The ARCO/Murray Assistant Concrete Superintendent will support self‑perform concrete projects—including foundations, slab on grade, slab on metal deck, tilt walls, and site concrete—and manage the administrative tasks associated with construction and field operations from day one.

Responsibilities

• Attend post‑award review meetings to receive project information and details for pre‑planning before construction.
• Partner with the project manager to prepare a schedule of construction activities, organization structure, staff selection, and manpower/equipment requirements.
• Direct and control the total construction project to meet specifications, schedule, and profit goals.
• Ensure strict quality‑control requirements are exceeded at all times.
• Assist the project manager with material shipments, equipment procurement, and approvals of shop drawings and material samples.
• Coordinate subcontractor activities to integrate their work with project schedules and progress.
• Inform supervisors and subcontractors promptly of any construction schedule changes.
• Prepare job progress and cost reports that accurately reflect actual costs.
• Review and approve requisitions, field purchase orders, invoices, and other significant documents.
• Communicate regularly with the owner and their representatives to keep them informed of construction progress.
• Cooperate amicably with architects or owner representatives while protecting the company’s long‑term interests.
• Hold job‑site meetings with the project manager and regional manager.
• Report regularly to the project manager on job progress, plans, and potential cost or schedule impacts.
• Maintain a daily log of significant project facts, events, conditions, visitors, owner contacts, commitments, agreements, and approvals.
• Enforce the company’s safety program in all phases and areas of the project.
• Make decisions under tight deadlines.
• Organize people, tools, and equipment; plan and manage multiple activities to achieve desired results.
• Demonstrate leadership, address conflict effectively, and face challenges directly.
• Evaluate project‑related processes, implement improvements, and meet/exceed internal and external customer expectations.
• Act with integrity, supporting company values and focusing on customer requirements and expectations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction experience, with at least 2 years supporting structural concrete jobs.
• Experience with tilt‑wall construction.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, time‑entry systems, and project‑scheduling programs.
• Current, valid driver’s license in your state of residence.
