Assistant Community Manager
About the role
The Morgan Group seeks a dedicated individual to join our team as a Community Assistant. This role involves assisting the Community Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of the community, ensuring professionalism and adherence to procedures.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to MORGAN’s manuals and handbooks
- Operate the office professionally and maintain confidentiality
- Maintain office and resident files securely
- Communicate with maintenance team regarding service requests
- Safeguard and deposit community funds accurately
- Supervise leasing team in absence of the Community Manager
- Ensure compliance with training requirements
- Maintain excellent resident relations
- Manage move-in paperwork and inspections
- Monitor and manage bookkeeping and rental collection
- Submit payables and prepare financials
- Collect rent and ensure compliance with lease agreements
- Assess move-out conditions and send final statements
- Charge for damages and fees, and manage collections
- Maintain compliance with Fair Housing and ADA laws
- Create and monitor marketing for the community
- Supervise leasing team and ensure fair housing standards
- Perform leasing consultant duties as needed
- Work overtime as necessary
Requirements
- Will need to be on feet for 33% to 100%
- Perform routine office duties such as filing, picking up debris, inspecting apartments, and climbing stairs
- Reach above shoulders, store supplies, and inspect the community
- Grasp, grip, and turn objects, and perform typing, writing, and handling packages
- Lift and carry items weighing less than 50 lbs frequently
- Wear personal protective equipment as required
- Read, write, and understand English
- Drive for business purposes with a valid license, insurance, and car registration
Physical Requirements
- Constant need to read and review reports, view computer screens, and handle correspondence
- Frequent need to see small details and things clearly beyond arm’s reach
- Constant need to communicate with residents, staff, vendors, and other stakeholders
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete multiple tasks concurrently
- Ability to shift attention between duties and adapt to changing business needs
- Ability to maintain concentration, accuracy, and productivity while experiencing frequent interruptions
- Ability to make sound business decisions and exercise independent judgment
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, prospects, team members, vendors, and other stakeholders
- Ability to use computer systems, property management software, email, and other technology platforms
