About the role
The Assistant Community Manager oversees the everyday operations and financial functions of the housing community under the supervision of the Community Manager. Key responsibilities include managing financial processes, personnel, leasing, maintenance, and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Post all payments and income accurately, timely, and efficiently.
- Process and reconcile daily account receivables.
- Monitor and follow up on bad debts, prepare late notices, and file evictions.
- Help the property meet budgeted revenues, expenses, and Net Operating Income.
- Post all charges to resident and non-current resident accounts and bill back utilities.
- Maintain accurate and organized records and audit resident files.
- Walk units and post move-out charges, statements, and security deposit refunds.
- Screen, hire, train, coach, and develop onsite staff.
- Ensure staff compliance and consistency with Company policies and procedures.
- Implement marketing strategies and systems, deal with resident complaints, and develop resident retention programs.
- Show, lease, and move in prospective residents.
- Manage customer service, maintain property appearance, and ensure timely completion of repairs.
- Audit and manage property resources, equipment, and supplies.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or two years experience in the housing industry.
- Two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic computer skills.
- Basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.
Qualifications
- Ability to understand and perform all onsite software functions.
- Regular/daily onsite attendance required.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to perform tasks requiring standing, sitting, moving about, ascending/descending ladders/stairs, and working in various conditions.
