About the role
The Assistant Community Manager oversees the everyday operations and financial functions of the housing community, working under the supervision of the Community Manager. Key responsibilities include managing financial processes, personnel, leasing, maintenance, and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Post all payments and income accurately, timely, and efficiently.
- Process and reconcile daily account receivables.
- Monitor and follow up on bad debt, including preparation of late notices, resident and guarantor contacts, and eviction filings.
- Help the property meet budgeted revenues, expenses, and net operating income.
- Post all charges to resident and non-resident accounts, including utility bill backs.
- Maintain accurate and organized records, audit resident files, and post move-out charges, statements, and security deposit refunds.
- Manage excellent customer service and monitor service request turnaround and responsiveness of maintenance staff.
- Maintain property appearance and ensure timely completion of repairs.
- Affordable housing, single-family home rentals, active adult, and student housing divisions.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred or two years experience in the housing industry; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to understand and perform all onsite software functions; basic computer skills required.
- Basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.
- Regular/daily onsite attendance is required.
- Must have ability to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods, communicate with others, repeat motions, assess accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work, move about to accomplish tasks, move from one worksite to another, ascend/descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, step stools, and the like, work in overhead positions, reach, adjust or move objects up to 25 lbs., operate machinery or power tools, operate motor vehicles and/or golf carts, identify and inspect objects, be able to work overtime, weekends, night hours (emergencies), work in small and/or enclosed spaces, traverse flat and non-flat terrain, work in extremely low or high temperatures, work in outdoor environments such as precipitation and wind, be exposed to hazardous chemicals.
Qualifications
