About the role

The Assistant Community Manager oversees the everyday operations and financial functions of the housing community under the supervision of the Community Manager. Key responsibilities include managing financial processes, personnel, leasing, maintenance, administrative tasks, and risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Post all payments and income accurately, timely, and efficiently.
  • Process and reconcile daily account receivables.
  • Monitor and follow up on bad debt, prepare late notices, and file evictions.
  • Help the property meet budgeted revenues, expenses, and Net Operating Income.
  • Post all charges to resident and non-resident accounts and bill back utilities.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records and audit resident files.
  • Walk units and post move-out charges, statements, and security deposit refunds.
  • Screen, hire, train, coach, and develop onsite staff.
  • Ensure staff compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Implement marketing strategies and systems, deal with resident complaints, and develop resident retention programs.
  • Show, lease, and move in prospective residents.
  • Manage customer service, maintain property appearance, and ensure timely completion of repairs.
  • Avoid physical hazards and ensure safety.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or two years experience in the housing industry.
  • One to two years related experience and/or training.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Understanding of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.

Qualifications

  • Ability to understand and perform all onsite software functions.
  • Regular/daily onsite attendance required.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform various tasks.
