About the role
The Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney for Prince William County, Cities of Manassas & Manassas Park is seeking Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorneys who believe in real criminal justice reform and the core values of fairness, honesty, and integrity.
Duties
- Assigned cases in all levels of court for a variety of misdemeanor and felony cases.
- Possessing the mentorship program where new attorneys are paired with experienced trial attorneys and provided with necessary resources to succeed.
- Serving as “Duty Attorney” and responding to calls and questions from citizens, police officers, and defense attorneys on a rotating basis.
- Attending relevant trainings, ride-along with law enforcement, and engaging in service to connect with the community.
Preferences
- Juris Doctorate degree and 2 years of related experience required.
- Experience as a criminal prosecutor or criminal defense is preferred but not required.
- Works cooperatively with the police departments in the jurisdiction.
- Can manage a large caseload.
- Has a zealous work ethic and proven ability to work with a team.
- Strong interest in advocating for the community’s best interest in a variety of cases.
Special Requirements
- Must be a member of the Virginia State Bar in good standing.
Salary Range
$90,000.00 to $100,000.00
