COACHING VACANCY Position is for the 2026-2027 school year Unified Bowling Assistant Coach POSITION: Assistant Coach, Unified Bowling / Special Olympics LOCATION: Skyview PAY RANGE: Co-Curricular Salary Schedule Category Ten $1,722 - $2,917 CALENDAR: Fall Season REPORTS TO: Head Coach, Athletics Director, and Special Olympics Designee Athletics Program The Skyview Wolverine Athletics Program is rooted in leadership, excellence, and integrity. A Special Olympics Unified Bowling Assistant Coach supports a team made up of athletes with and without intellectual disabilities. The Assistant Coach works under the direction of the Head Coach to support practices, teach bowling skills, assist with game-day setup, and promote teamwork, inclusion, and fair play. Qualifications Valid Colorado teaching license preferred; however, other candidate credentials will also be considered.Must possess strong, comprehensive knowledge of the sport.Experience working with middle and/or high school athletes.Ability to work as an integral part of the coaching staff.Must be knowledgeable about proper fitness and conditioning techniques for athletes and have a current First Aid certificate or equivalent.Must complete state or local Special Olympics coaching certifications. Performance Responsibilities Specific performance responsibilities will be discussed during the application/interview process. Special consideration will be given to staff employed within the district. Fulfill the responsibilities of their teaching assignment as a priority if currently employed as a district teacher.Adhere to the rules, regulations, stipulations, and policies of the Colorado High School Activities Association.Assist with training participants in sport-specific techniques, fundamentals, sportsmanship, and the role of athletics in developing discipline and team cooperation; reinforce team concepts; and attend clinics and conferences with staff to stay current on trends in the sport.Assist with the inventory, issuance, control, collection, cleaning, and storage of all uniforms, equipment, materials, and supplies related to the sport.Assist with implementing daily, weekly, and seasonal practice schedules as directed by the Head Coach and support the effective use of personnel.Assist with preparing and submitting end-of-season reports, inventory, and budget requests.Assist with filing an accident report for any student injured while under their supervision.Assist with organizing award presentations for the sport.Communicate special needs to the Head Coach and assist with communication to the Special Olympics coordinator regarding equipment, transportation, budget, fundraising ideas, game officials, and eligibility.Assist in ensuring athletes do not practice or compete without all required documentation, including a current permission slip, physical examination, insurance waiver, and emergency form.Maintain fairness and consistency in all decisions and judgments relating to sport participation.Support the Head Coach in encouraging students to improve academic success, maintain eligibility, improve attendance, and develop positive self-esteem throughout their high school years; perform other duties as assigned. Training Mandatory Title IX training is required by the Colorado Department of Education for all public-school employees. Title IX training addresses harassment, discrimination, and bullying. Completion of these mandatory courses helps ensure compliance with state requirements while supporting a culture of safety and belonging across our schools.Two mandatory training courses must be completed within 30 days of the date of hire. These courses must be completed on their own time.
