About the role
Assist the head coach in the daily operations and overall administration of the Men’s Soccer varsity intercollegiate program, including instruction of student-athletes, within the guidelines, rules, and regulations of the University of Scranton, the Landmark Conference, and the NCAA.
Responsibilities
- Lead training and practice sessions while maintaining all appropriate safety guidelines and standards.
- Perform specific coaching and instructional duties during athletic events.
- Attend coach’s preparatory meetings and implement strategies resulting from these meetings.
- Handle assigned responsibilities within the daily operations and overall administration of the varsity program.
- Develop a comprehensive and functional knowledge of the sport and maintain thorough familiarity with all applicable University, Landmark Conference, and NCAA regulations.
- Scout and recruit quality student-athletes under the guidance and direction of the head coach; coordinate all recruiting activities with the head coach and appropriate departmental personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Intercollegiate playing experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Coaching experience.
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with additional hours as required.
- Full-time, 10-month annual schedule.
