Assistant Coach High School Girls Volleyball 3630 - Phoenix

Minimum Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Background experience, training, or coursework in girls volleyball
• Receptive and expressive manual communication skills if working with hearing impaired students
• CPR/First Aid certification upon hire

Major Duties And Responsibilities

• Plan practices
• Supervise athletes at all times
• Report to Athletic Coordinator regarding accidents, equipment needs, eligibility rosters, transportation and meal requests, equipment/uniform inventory
• Develop team rules and enforce them in a fair and equitable manner
• Provide appropriate leadership/role model for athletes
• Safely lift and transport non-ambulatory students
• Other duties as outlined in the coaches' manual

Special Requirements/Conditions

• In the event the school's transportation department is unable to provide transportation, the coach(es) may be assigned the responsibility of transporting the team to an away contest in school vehicles.
• Must utilize appropriate personal protective equipment as required

Safety Sensitive Position

• Requires pre-employment drug testing and random drug testing for the duration of employment

Special Conditions/Requirements

• Must be able to pass FBI and State background check
• Must complete Defensive Driver Training Program
• High School Head and Assistant Coaches require NFHS Coaches Education certification
• High School Head Coaches require a valid Arizona Dept. of Education certificate in Athletic Coaching, Elementary, Secondary, or Special Education
• Must be able to pass post-offer physical
• Must have ASL skills if working with deaf or hard of hearing staff/students
• All coaches require current CPR and First Aid certification
