Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Support Head Coach: Assist with planning, organizing, and executing practices and games.
- Player Development: Improve student-athletes' fundamental wrestling skills, tactical understanding, and physical conditioning.
- Logistics & Supervision: Help with practice/game setup and breakdown, and directly supervise student-athletes during all team activities, ensuring safety and policy adherence.
- Team Environment: Contribute to a positive, disciplined, and sportsmanlike team culture.
- Communication: Maintain effective communication with the Head Coach, players, parents, and athletic staff.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to all school, district, ECC, and CIAC rules and regulations.
- Role Modeling: Serve as a positive role model, promoting academic integrity, sportsmanship, and responsibility.
- Administrative Tasks: Assist with inventory, equipment management, and other administrative duties as needed.
- Off-Season Support: Support organized off-season training, conditioning, and summer league activities as directed by the Head Coach.
Minimum Qualifications
- CT Certification 600: Interscholastic/Intramural Coach or eligibility for certification required.
- First Aid/CPR Certification.
- Demonstrated knowledge of wrestling fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate student-athletes.
- Commitment to academic excellence and holistic student development.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
