Assistant Coach

About the role

Bryant & Stratton College, Hampton Roads Market is seeking a part-time Assistant Baseball Coach and a part-time Assistant Basketball Coach for their women's team. The Assistant Coach is responsible for the overall development and advancement of a competitive athletic program while demonstrating high moral and ethical standards and positive sportsmanship. The Assistant Coach must focus not only on excellence on the field, but recognize and emphasize academic excellence in the classroom as well. The Assistant Coach, along with Coach and the athletic director, must operate within the budget to meet the team needs and enforce rules pertaining to the College, student conduct, and governing rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement training programs that enhance the skills of the players
• Manage team travel and scheduling
• Work closely with the head coach to develop game strategies
• Encourage and support academic success among players
• Enforce College policies and rules
• Collaborate with the athletic director to manage team budgets

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of coaching experience at the college level
• Experience with NCAA Division II rules and regulations
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Passion for promoting academic excellence in athletics

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in a related field
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
