Assistant Clinical Professor of Law / Clinical Professor of Law 2026-2027

The University of California, Irvine School of Law invites applications for a full-time clinical faculty position, with security of employment or potential for security of employment, to begin on July 1, 2027. Responsibilities
- Create a new Core Clinic or co-teach in one of the law school’s existing Core Clinics.
- Aid in the planning and development of the overall clinical program.
- Maintain high standards of teaching and service.
- Maintain outstanding and externally recognized contributions in research/creative activity in pedagogy and/or the discipline.
Requirements
- Hold a J.D. from an ABA-accredited school.
- Be licensed to practice law in California by the end of their first year of employment.
- At least five years of practice experience and two years of clinical teaching experience are strongly preferred, but all applicants must have demonstrated potential for outstanding teaching achievements.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $196,000-$297,600. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. “Off-scale salaries” and other components of pay, i.e., a salary that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions.
