Job Summary

The City of Dallas is seeking an energetic, self-motivated attorney to join the Municipal Prosecution Section of the Dallas City Attorney’s Office. This full-time position involves performing a variety of professional legal functions, working under supervision, and handling criminal law cases including traffic violations, assault, disorderly conduct, public intoxication, and theft.

Job Description

  • Prosecutes Class C misdemeanors and violations of municipal ordinances in the Dallas Municipal Court.

  • Represents the City of Dallas in administrative adjudications, dangerous dog appeals, parking appeals, stormwater proceedings, and bond forfeitures.

Requirements

  • Currently licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing with the Texas Bar.

  • At least one year of experience practicing law in Texas.

Qualifications

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • A collaborative, problem-solving mindset.

Skills

  • Knowledge of municipal ordinances and criminal law.

  • Ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously.
