Job Summary
The City of Dallas is seeking an energetic, self-motivated attorney to join the Municipal Prosecution Section of the Dallas City Attorney’s Office. This full-time position involves performing a variety of professional legal functions, working under supervision, and handling criminal law cases including traffic violations, assault, disorderly conduct, public intoxication, and theft.
Job Description
Prosecutes Class C misdemeanors and violations of municipal ordinances in the Dallas Municipal Court.
Represents the City of Dallas in administrative adjudications, dangerous dog appeals, parking appeals, stormwater proceedings, and bond forfeitures.
Requirements
Currently licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing with the Texas Bar.
At least one year of experience practicing law in Texas.
Qualifications
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
A collaborative, problem-solving mindset.
Skills
Knowledge of municipal ordinances and criminal law.
Ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously.
