Pay
- Assistant City Attorney I: $108,674.59 – $151,478.50 annually
- Assistant City Attorney II: $119,788.24 – $166,968.88 annually
- Assistant City Attorney III: $132,091.65 – $184,119.73 annually
Requirements
- Graduation from an American Bar Association–accredited law school with a Juris Doctor degree.
- Active membership in the State Bar of Arizona at the time of hire.
Qualifications by Level
- Assistant City Attorney I
- No prior experience required.
- Preferred: strong background in contract drafting; for Administrative and Land Use Units, municipal/public law or land-use experience.
- Assistant City Attorney II
- Minimum two years of law practice.
- Preferred: municipal/public law experience; for Administrative Law and Land Use Units, contract drafting, negotiating, or legislation experience.
- Assistant City Attorney III
- Minimum four years of progressively responsible law practice.
- Preferred: municipal/public law experience; for Administrative Law and Land Use Units, advanced public-sector client advice, complex contract/legislation drafting, or complex civil litigation.
