Assistant Chief of Emergency Medicine
Job Summary
HCA Florida Raulerson Hospital is seeking a full-time Chief of Emergency Medicine to lead their practice in Okeechobee, Florida.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM), with a minimum of 24 months of current Emergency Medicine experience. Consideration will also be given to candidates with a Board-Certified Family Medicine (ABFM) or Board-Certified Internal Medicine (ABIM) background with at least 24 months of Emergency Medicine experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Emergency Medicine department in providing high-quality patient care
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and hospital policies
- Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance patient flow and outcomes
- Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to staff members
- Participate in medical staff meetings and committees
- Manage the Emergency Department operations, including staffing and scheduling
- Oversee the implementation of new technologies and procedures
- Ensure the department adheres to infection control protocols
Requirements
- Board Certification in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM)
- Minimum of 24 months of current Emergency Medicine experience
- Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications
