About the role

The Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) position is incentive eligible. This role is within the Medical City Heart & Spine Hospitals team, where excellence creates excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Quality: Assists CNO in formulating policies/procedures, performs regular rounds, ensures continuous performance improvement, identifies system problems, and fosters an exceptional patient experience.
  • Service: Promotes positive patient interactions, supports patient experience strategies, and collaborates with physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • People: Fosters independence and autonomy, provides leadership, develops staff, and represents nursing services at meetings.
  • Growth: Assists in planning new services, manages the nursing services budget, and collaborates with other departments to set goals and implement improvements.
  • Finance: Assists in managing costs, determines staffing levels, and ensures high-quality, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required, Master's Degree in Nursing or related healthcare field or current enrollment in Master's program required.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in supervisory nursing roles and 5+ years of experience in direct leadership in a hospital or patient care environment required.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license required.
