About the Role

HCA Florida Kendall Hospital is seeking a full-time Assistant Chief of Emergency Medicine Physician to join the dynamic team in the Emergency Department (ED) and surrounding Free-Standing Emergency Departments (FSEDs).

The ED has a volume of 84,000 visits annually (adult and pediatric) with physicians seeing approximately 2.1 patients per hour. The hospital features a 36-bed ED with a 10-chair Fast Track, 12 pediatric ED beds (24-hour coverage), and 55 hours of physician coverage for adults, supplemented by 12 hours of Advanced Practice Provider coverage. The department also supports an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine Residency Program and fellowship programs in Ultrasound, Administration, and Operations. Physicians will rotate through the main ED and four associated FSEDs: Town and Country, Doral, Cutler Bay, and South Dade.

Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems in use include Meditech, Pdoc, and Dragon Dictation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight as Assistant Chief of Emergency Medicine.
  • Deliver high-quality emergency medical care to patients across the main ED and associated FSEDs.
  • Participate in rotations through all locations, including the Level I Trauma Center and Burn Center.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including residents and fellows in training programs.

Requirements

  • Completion of an Emergency Medicine Residency.
  • Board Certification in Emergency Medicine within the last 5 years.
  • Active ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications.
  • Ideally, at least 2 years of directorship experience.
