Duties & Responsibilities
- Follow standard operating procedures to ensure high quality after-school and summer programs.
- Aid with operational and administrative tasks such as completing paperwork, ordering supplies, curriculum preparation and implementation, staff training, marketing efforts, and other tasks as directed.
- Utilize appropriate child guidance and classroom management strategies.
- Model and instill Great Hearts 9 Core Virtues (responsibility, perseverance, integrity, honesty, courage, citizenship, humility, friendship, wisdom).
- Maintain licensing compliance in all areas of program operations.
- Respond to and document student behavior according to protocols.
- Escalate incident reports and significant events to the Campus Coordinator.
- Substitute in classrooms as needed.
- Act as a representative for the Campus Coordinator in their absence.
- Adhere to Great Hearts policies, procedures, and business initiatives.
- Attend meetings at home office and other local business locations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Competencies & Strengths
- A principled, professional leader with an independent work ethic and a heart of service to others.
- Sound business judgment and wisdom in dealing with people.
- Requisite experience in the field of liberal arts and/or education, as well as experience with children and children’s programming.
- Preference given to candidates with experience in a licensed program and meeting the qualifications of Director Designee as per Arizona Department of Health Services Bureau of Child Care Licensing.
- At least 21 years of age and hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Required to obtain CPR/First Aid certification upon hire.
- Must possess or obtain a valid Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP fingerprint clearance card upon hire.
- Physical functions: Requires standing, sitting, repetitive hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. May involve moving or positioning equipment up to 15 pounds.
Travel Required
- May need to travel locally for training and professional development opportunities.
