About the role
The Assistant Building Official is responsible for overseeing the construction and maintenance of buildings within the city limits. This role involves ensuring compliance with local building codes and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the inspection process for all new construction projects.
- Review plans and specifications for compliance with local building codes and regulations.
- Issue permits and ensure that all work complies with building codes.
- Provide guidance and training to contractors and developers on building codes and regulations.
- Respond to complaints and concerns from the public regarding building code violations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
