Assistant Branch Manager
About the role
Brief Description Verity is hiring for a Assistant Branch Manager at our Beacon Hill branch. At Verity, we empower our member’s financial lives and create vibrant communities. Since 1933, Verity has been a local member-owned credit union. We are also the only financial institution in the Pacific Northwest that is a part of the Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV).
Responsibilities
- Promote credit union services and actively cross-sell relevant products
- Build and maintain strong relationships with business and community partners
- Represent Verity at community events to increase visibility and engagement
- Coach and motivate employees to achieve monthly sales goals
- Educate staff on promotional campaigns, sales targets, and strategic objectives
- Enforce adherence to account policies, procedures, and security protocols
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual audits in coordination with Internal Audit
- Oversee ATM and cash vault operations, ensuring accuracy in general ledger accounts
- Perform cash handling duties and serve as back-up and vault teller as needed
- Step in for the Branch Manager when necessary to ensure smooth operations
- Communicate branch needs and employee concerns to leadership proactively
- Analyze team performance metrics and partner with the Branch Manager to meet service and production goals
- Maintain consistent presence during regular business hours
- Work flexible hours, including Saturdays and off-site meetings, as required
- Travel to attend meetings and participate in off-site training opportunities
- Lead by example through independent judgment, initiative, and progressive responsibility
- Organize and facilitate engaging branch meetings
- Prepare and deliver impactful employee performance reviews
- Recognize and celebrate employee contributions
- Deliver real-time coaching, feedback, and performance improvement plans
- Foster a positive team culture aligned with Verity’s Mission and Values
- Support employee development through ongoing performance management, training, and counseling
- Communicate clearly and confidently in both oral and written formats
- Navigate difficult conversations using diplomacy, tact, and empathy
- Connect effectively with a diverse range of members and staff
- Originate, process, and make informed credit decisions as a designated Lending Officer
- Complete other job-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree or higher in Business, Finance, or related field – preferred
- (Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a financial institution, preferably a credit union
- Successful completion of Member Consultant II requirements, or equivalent experience in a member-facing financial services role
- Demonstrated leadership potential through informal coaching, mentoring, training support, or leading initiatives, supervisory experience preferred
- Strong understanding of state and federal financial industry regulations
- Must be bondable and able to obtain and maintain an NMLS license, Notary Public commission, and Medallion Signature Guarantee
Essential Job Functions

Operations & Branch Management

Working Conditions

- Working on computers for a long period of time in an office environment
- Must be able to work Saturday hours
