About the role
The Assistant Branch Manager supports the Branch Manager in a high volume branch, overseeing daily activities to ensure high quality customer service. They provide coaching and development for branch staff, demonstrating core values and providing superior customer experiences.
Responsibilities
- Builds a motivated and high-performing branch team through recruitment, training, and development of staff.
- Conducts regular and quarterly coaching and career development conversations.
- Proposes salary recommendations to Branch and Market Manager for approval.
- Responsible for sales and service coaching of branch staff and participating in branch activities and results.
- Develops decision-making and business development skills under the guidance of the manager.
- Identifies and establishes new relationship opportunities with business partners.
- Delivers solutions to customers through interactive, needs-based conversations.
- Refers customers to business partners to meet current and future needs.
- Takes ownership to resolve customer issues and complaints while delivering an elevated level of responsiveness and customer satisfaction.
- Provides supervisory oversight of branch operations, compliance, and risk.
- Manages FTE’s, fee waivers, and other budget-related items to ensure branch profitability.
- Ensures team understanding and awareness of information security and fraud risk.
- Fulfills a leadership role with civic and community organizations.
Requirements
- 4 year college degree or equivalent retail, retail banking, or financial services experience.
- 3 years retail banking experience required.
- Business development & outside business sales experience preferred.

Unique Job Characteristics and Requirements
NMLS Certification required or ability to obtain upon hire.
