Assistant Branch Manager

Responsibilities
- Assist Branch Manager in hiring, assessing, coaching and developing high performing branch teams to ensure consistency and uniformity in providing excellent member service, achieving sales goals, and ensuring an operationally and regulatory compliant branch at each given location.
- Create and ensure an ongoing sales through service culture.
- Aid in the creation, implementation, and achievement of the branch business plans to meet objectives set by management.
- Aid in developing and implementing strategies to meet sales and service goals while maintaining a safe and sound operation in each location.
- Implement and monitor sales and cross-selling programs to continue to improve products per member while ensuring members are advised of the best products and services to best fit their financial needs.
- Ensure premier member service standards are being met within the branch at all times.
- Responsible for branch scheduling to ensure proper resources are allocated to functions necessary to ensure an effective and efficient flow of member traffic.
- Responsible for an effective and efficient operation within the branch, including vault oversight, cash levels, security of negotiable instruments, teller drawers and limits, member documentation, etc.
- Ensure operations within the branch are consistently applied within policy/procedure as well as rules and regulations; maintain a clean, safe and sound operation within the branch.
- Conduct required in-branch audits weekly and monthly to ensure compliance with policies/procedures and rules and regulations. Respond timely to audits with effective action plans to ensure ongoing safety and soundness.
- Ensure dual control is implemented and followed at all times; manage overall cash position for the branch while limiting excess cash and overall expense.
- Comply with BSA and SAR requirements and ensure branch staff do the same.
- Ensure proper disclosures, marketing materials, etc. are readily available for staff to utilize.
- Review and analyze branch reports and activities, including income generation, production goals and results, expense items, audits, etc. in order to successfully meet / exceed branch requirements, goals and objectives.
- Utilize tools and reports to analyze, identify and strategically address member trends within the branch.
- Actively spend quality time within your staff for ongoing coaching and development of branch staff; drive sales and service activities such as branch sales strategy meetings, business development and community events, ongoing branch meetings, etc.
- Aid in the management and oversight of staffing and administrative functions of your branch including succession plans, career plans, performance reviews, coaching and counseling documentation, promotions, and all human resources decisions for the branch.
- Ensure timely execution of all required documentation.
- Recommend changes to management help improve the overall branch operation and member service.
- Aid staff with member escalations.
- Travel and work at other branch locations as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a retail leadership role.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience branch banking required.
- Proven results in sales, service and operations including meeting or exceeding set objectives.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Must be able to work under pressure and be available to work flexible hours, including weekends.
- Highly ethical.
Why you'll be a good fit
The pay range for this position is between $66,300-75,330 annually. Actual base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus, 401(k) with an 6% employer match per pay period.
