About the Role
To help each student-athlete achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem.
Qualifications
- Possess and maintain proper Connecticut coaching certification.
- Have a strong background in soccer.
- Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the welfare and conduct of team members from the time they report for practice or a game until they leave the school.
- Exemplify the highest ideals of good sportsmanship and offer respect and empathy to each athlete as an individual.
- Serve as a positive role model, never placing the value of winning above the value of character building.
- Show respect and support for contest officials; avoid conduct that incites players or spectators against officials or each other.
