About the role

The Assistant Bell Captain position at Stein Eriksen Lodge is a vital part of our welcoming and professional front desk team. You will be responsible for providing prompt, courteous service to guests and ensuring their satisfaction throughout their stay.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests sincerely and make their stay as enjoyable as possible.
  • Effectively and seriously respond and deal with guests' needs and requests.
  • Knowledgeable of surrounding area's attractions and points of interest.
  • Assist guests at check-in and checkout.
  • Tag, store, and distribute baggage.
  • Record all bell service activities in the log book.
  • Administer administrative functions such as ordering newspapers, labor hour reconciliation, calculating gratuities, and group services.
  • Maintain and organize all bell service files.
  • Train, motivate, reward, and discipline staff as needed.
  • Allocate baggage tip money in a fair and timely manner.
  • Show rooms and property to visitors.
  • Deliver items such as messages, packages, and flowers to the rooms as needed.
  • Maintain fires in the fireplaces in the main entrance and main lobby.
  • Provide ski and weather information.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and professional work area (including bell stand and entire front entrance in the garage).
  • Respond to all emergency situations, and know all the safety and emergency procedures and how to act upon them.
  • Demonstrate an outgoing and pleasant attitude with all guests and employees.
  • Take all necessary measures to help guests and fellow employees.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • Previous Bell service experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • An enthusiastic willingness to work together as a team.
  • Ability to work flexible hours (days, evenings, weekends, and holidays).
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
