Assistant Bartender, Pool Service Bars

Summary Statement

The Apprentice Bartender is responsible for servicing guests in a courteous and professional manner, while assisting bartenders throughout the course of business. This role ensures bar areas are always cleaned, organized, and properly stocked with prepped ingredients.

Primary Job Duties

• Greet and welcome all guests in a professional manner.
• Ensure the bar is properly stocked with supplies necessary for service.
• Replenish ice coolers, garnish trays, straws, and napkin holders.
• Ensure bar equipment and supplies are clean and in working order.
• Avoid spills and other health and safety hazards by maintaining a clean and organized bar area.
• Anticipate the guests' needs and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency.
• Perform all opening and closing duties based upon shift assignment.
• Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and personal hygiene.
• Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role.
• Obtain and maintain position-specific licensing.
• Participate in in-house modeling programs, special casino events, banquet service functions, marketing campaigns, and advertising, and perform model/presenter tasks.
• Pose for pictures as requested by management, appear in uniform or designated (logo) apparel for promotional activities at or away from venue.
• Use personal device/cellular phone for job-related operational tasks, job duties, review company documents, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of bartender work and/or drink preparation.
• Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English.
• Polished appearance and demeanor.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to obtain & maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Preferred: Previous experience working in a large, luxury resort setting.
• Minimum Education and Experience: At least 21 years of age.
• Preferred: At least 6 months of previous experience working in a similar bar or restaurant setting.
• Certificates, Licenses, Regulations: Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Physical Demands

Work is typically performed in a typical outdoor bar environment. Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality. Prolonged walking/standing, bending and reaching, transporting, pushing, pulling, lifting and maneuvering items weighing up to 50 lbs. Eye/hand coordination. Ability to comply with Policies and Procedures, Job Description, daily memorandums, chemical labels (SDS), and other instructions.
