Responsibilities

• Assists in managing and directing the banquet and convention services staff in accordance with standards, policies, and procedures.
• Coordinates and directs the daily activities of all direct reports for the Banquet Operations Team, including planning, organizing, execution, and evaluation of all banquet functions.
• Schedules adequate staffing for each function.
• Works with third-party companies such as exposition and décor companies on clients' behalf.
• Partners with support teams to ensure room sets are correct and events are executed as expected by clients.
• Anticipates and handles customer complaints or problems to ensure quality product delivery, customer satisfaction, and repeat business.
• Understands the Collective Bargaining Agreement and works with union and Human Resources following proper process with complaints and grievances.
• Responsible for hiring, orientation, training, and job performance for all direct reports.
• Makes recommendations on making the business more competitive by upgrading services and/or equipment and non-traditional use of space.
• Inspects to maintain proper standards of storing, handling, and maintenance of equipment.
• Ensures all function areas are kept clean and in proper condition to provide a safe working environment for employees.

Requirements

• College degree preferred.
• 2-4 years related experience preferred.
• Good communication, supervisory, and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to direct and motivate employees.
• New Jersey Caterers License (Nj Cer License) required.

Pay

Starting salary $65k.
