Summary Of Duties And Responsibilities

Attorneys in the Public Integrity Bureau of the Office of the Illinois Attorney General prosecute a broad range of crimes, including official misconduct by state, county, and city officials and employees. Cases originate from various sources such as federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, as well as referrals from Inspectors General and State’s Attorneys. Attorneys handle cases from intake through sentencing, evaluating cases, providing legal advice, initiating charges, and litigating motions, trials, sentencing hearings, and post-trial motions. They also frequently direct grand jury investigations and litigate grand jury matters.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of principles of criminal law, particularly as they relate to white collar crime
  • 3 years of trial experience, preferably with experience involving investigations and trials of white-collar crimes
  • Works well with others and contributes to the team
  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois
  • Willingness to travel

Salary: Salaries are commensurate with number of years of practice as a licensed attorney and range from $84,480 to $107,550.
