Assistant Attorney General (Health Care)

About the role

Provide litigation and general counsel for state agency clients, including handling complex and high-profile cases in health care and public health law.

Responsibilities

• Handle litigation related to Medicaid, health department licensing, compliance, appeals, and administrative matters.
• Offer legal opinions and strategic guidance on enforcement, procurement, and regulatory disputes.
• Practice across administrative, state, and federal courts.

Requirements

• Must be licensed or eligible to waive into the Colorado Bar.
• Strong research, writing, and litigation skills.
• Background in health care, public health, regulatory compliance, or administrative law preferred.
• Experience with complex rate setting, reimbursement methodologies, financial reporting, trust, estate, or probate law is advantageous.
