Assistant Athletics Communication Director
About the role
The Athletic Communications Fellow supports Bryn Mawr College’s 12 intercollegiate sports through generating creative video/digital content, media relations, press releases, website and other print and electronic media.
Responsibilities
- Create promotional videos and online profiles of teams, student-athletes, and alumni.
- Produce creative content for the department including event schedule posters, promotional items, and recruiting materials.
- Assist the Athletic Communications Director with managing the athletics website (gobrynmawr.com) and all social media platforms.
- Work directly with the Athletic Communications Director and the College Communications department to further expand the various types of coverage of athletics.
- Aid in department fund raising and promotional events, including Owls Fest and annual giving promotion.
- Assist with media day for all sports.
- Work directly with coaches and student athletes for promotion and marketing of Bryn Mawr Athletics.
- Hire, supervise, and train game-day student workers for all home contests to work on the events, the scorer’s table, and livestream videography.
- Provide on-site gameday support for all home contests.
- In-game responsibilities may include photography and video of the game, live social media coverage, and statistics of contests.
- Work with a variety of statistical programs and understand sport-specific rules.
- Operate the Production Truck and manage the live-stream broadcast of home events.
- Write and distribute post-contest recaps through various media and social media outlets.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- PREFERRED: Knowledge of in-game statistical software (such as PrestoStats and NCAA LiveStats).
- Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and InDesign, and website management, is preferred.
- Experience with photography and/or video editing is strongly preferred.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to work outside of a variety of weather conditions.
- Some lifting, carrying equipment, and walking are required.
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification is preferred.
