Assistant Athletic Trainer

About the role

The Assistant Athletic Trainer works under the supervision of the head athletic trainer and supervises the care of student athletes competing in the University's athletic program. The Assistant Athletic Trainer is responsible for the prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation of injuries within the University's athletics program. Responsibilities

• Prevent athletic injuries and illnesses.
• Evaluate athletic injuries and determine appropriate courses of treatment and therapies to encourage recovery.
• Treat athletic injuries with various therapies including the use of electrical modalities, thermal modalities, hydrotherapy, and manual therapies.
• Provide education to student athletes including preventative education, injury education, and instruction in proper technique for rehabilitative exercises.
• Perform athletic training administrative duties.
• Assist with coordination, scheduling, and provision of medical coverage for home
