About the role
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Athletics and Recreation department is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer. This 10-month appointment (August through May) evaluates athletic injuries, consults with team physicians and/or healthcare professionals, provides health care and referrals for patients in support of injury care and injury prevention for 16 varsity sports.
Responsibilities
- Provide practice and event coverage including evenings and weekends.
- Supervise athletic training facilities, undergraduate first-aiders, and MAT students (preceptor).
- Provide care, prevention, evaluation, rehabilitation, and documentation of injuries for student-athletes in accordance with state and federal laws.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable University, conference, and NCAA rules, regulations, and policies.
- Communicate and collaborate with sports medicine, external medical providers, coaching, and athletic administration staff.
- Sport assignments and other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer (or designee).
Requirements
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
- NATA BOC certification.
- Wisconsin license eligible.
- Current First Aid, CPR, AED certification.
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours.
Knowledge of NCAA and Conference (WIAC) rules and regulations is desirable.
Pay
$45,000 for this 10-month appointment.
