UPIKE is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer to support the Sports Medicine Department and provide care for multiple university sports teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide coverage for athletic practice sessions and game events, both home and away.
- Assist with the assignment of sport coverage for all sports medicine staff.
- Supervise work-study and scholarship students assisting in the sports medicine department.
- Recruit scholarship students to assist the sports medicine department.
- Maintain the sports medicine rooms to ensure an optimal experience for student athletes.
- Perform administrative duties as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in Athletic Training.
- Certified by the National Athletic Training Association - Board of Certification.
- Familiarity with operating modalities and sports-related equipment (e.g., estim/ultrasound machine, ice machine, whirlpool, water boys).
- Self-sufficient with strong management and direction skills for the sports medicine staff.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
- Able to perform simple calculations.
- Familiar with conducting web-based research and creating online travel arrangements.
