Assistant Athletic Trainer

About the role

The assistant athletic trainer assists the head athletic trainer in all aspects of the athletic training program, including prevention of athletic injuries/illnesses, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.

Responsibilities

• Prevention of athletic injuries/illnesses.
• Evaluation of athletic injuries/illnesses and medical referral.
• First aid and emergency care of athletic injuries/illnesses.
• Rehabilitation and reconditioning of athletic injuries/illnesses.
• Counseling and guidance of athletes.
• Teaching courses in the department of kinesiology, as needed and as assigned by the chair of the kinesiology department and the director of athletics.
