Assistant/Associate Professor - School of Dentistry/Dental Hygiene
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will oversee didactic, pre-clinical, and clinical instruction to dental hygiene and dental students. They will also engage in high-quality scholarly activity and service-related activities.
The candidate may serve in roles of clinical and didactic teaching, course director for courses assigned, and clinic supervisor.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in dental hygiene or health related field.
- Registered dental hygiene graduate from a dental hygiene program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association.
- Possess a current dental hygiene license from the West Virginia Board of Dental Examiners.
- Current BLS certification recognized by the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a dental hygiene clinical instructor.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a practicing dental hygienist.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated commitment to advancing the dental hygiene profession.
- Evidence of multiple appointed and/or elected officer positions in state and national organizations.
- Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Positive leadership skills.
Skills
- Ability to teach effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Experience in developing and implementing educational programs.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
