About the role

This position involves enhancing the knowledge, growth, and overall development of veterinary students through contributions to courses in the Department of Veterinary Biomedical Sciences. The primary purpose is to deliver selected lectures, advise and mentor DVM and graduate students, participate in developing course syllabi, assist in conducting and grading examinations, and engage in research activities.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver selected lectures in Bacteriology/Mycology course to veterinary students
  • Advise and mentor DVM and graduate students
  • Provide learning outcomes and examination questions for each assigned lecture
  • Assist in conducting and grading examinations in compliance with the CVM Examination Policy
  • Observe the policies and procedures governing the University
  • Participate in the following University Activities: Faculty Senate, Departmental Meetings, Departmental Faculty Evaluations, College/University committees

Requirements

  • DVM and/or PhD from an accredited institution
  • Board Certification in Microbiology (preference)
  • Proven research scholarship and teaching experience in microbiology

Qualifications

  • Ability to orally and written communicate effectively
  • Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and supervisory staff
  • May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing
  • May be required to transport oneself to other campus offices, conference rooms, and on occasion, to off-campus sites

Skills

  • Effective communication skills

  • Collaborative research with CVM faculty in other departments

Pay

$149,864 - $196,539 per year. Salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill, knowledge, experience, education, and credentials.

Schedule

Full-time position with 40 hours per week.
