Assistant/Associate Professor of Small Animal Surgical Oncology, AC track

About the role

The successful candidate is expected to have history of or potential as an exemplary clinician, and educator and excel as an academic leader in their field. Members of faculty in the AC track perform 42 weeks per year of clinical patient care, which includes clinical service in surgical oncology and sharing backup on-call for surgery in the Matthew J. Ryan Veterinary Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Perform 42 weeks per year of clinical patient care, including clinical service in surgical oncology and sharing backup on-call for surgery in the Matthew J. Ryan Veterinary Hospital.
• Each clinical week is composed of 4 days of patient care and 1 non-patient care day to allow clinicians to complete records and other follow ups.
• Teaching duties include both clinical and didactic teaching of veterinary students, interns, and residents in oncologic and soft tissue surgery.
• Contribute to their field through education and service that advances their field.

Requirements

• Must have a veterinary degree and be board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons or have successfully completed a registered surgical residency.
• Fellowship training in surgical oncology is highly desirable.
• The candidate must demonstrate expertise in surgical oncology.
• The candidate must establish a Surgical Oncology Fellowship Program.

Qualifications
