About the role
The Department of Surgical Sciences of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, School of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a full-time, faculty position as an Assistant, Associate or Full Professor of Small Animal Oncologic Surgery.
Responsibilities
- Management of oncologic surgery cases presented to the UW Veterinary Care hospital.
- Clinical service, collaboration with other clinical services within the hospital, consultation with referring veterinarians, and equitable participation in emergency and after-hours coverage when on clinic duty.
- Teaching of preclinical veterinary students, fourth-year veterinary students, surgical and rotating interns, and surgical residents.
- Research, conducting research and publishing results of scholarly activities.
- Service, participation in administrative committees and outreach activities.
Requirements
- Certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons or eligible for the certification examination.
- Fellowship trained in surgical oncology (ACVS Fellow, Surgical Oncology) or expected completion of a surgical oncology fellowship prior to the start date (Fellow candidate, Surgical Oncology).
- Eligible for and maintaining a Wisconsin license to practice Veterinary Medicine.
Qualifications
- DVM or equivalent degree.
Skills
Experience working with, teaching, and mentoring diverse groups of residents, interns, and students is a plus.
